New Product Development Manager

Salary: £25,000-£32,000

Based: London

The Role:

A fast-growing fragrance company is looking for an experienced NPD Manager within the luxury market, based in central London. The ideal candidate will have a background of at least 2years+ working in FMCG, supply chain, production planning, material resource planning (MRP) and bill of materials (BOM) experience essential. Must have a solid knowledge of the fragrance and cosmetics alongside a good understanding of safety requirements in both European and global territories.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Head of Product Development and coordinating with the wider PD team during the product creation process
  • To create detailed seasonal strategies for sign off meetings and participate in presenting these proposals
  • Assist the Creative Director/Head of Product Development on meetings with external branding agencies and designers
  • Working across multiple brands & product categories within the fragrance sector
  • Push design and styling forward each season through product innovation
  • Responsible for price negotiation and driving intake margin for new range development
  • Ensure all European and US labelling legislations and testing regulations are adhered to
  • Continuous evaluation of sales & stock holding for production planning
  • Compose critical path deadlines between design teams & suppliers
  • Organisation of new product launch for trade shows/press
  • Troubleshooting. Effectively review and overcome any production issues that arise
  • Responsible for purchasing of all stock – Full service and Free Issue
  • Using MRP to fulfil the above
  • Sending quarterly forecasts to suppliers, review of actuals
  • Visiting & negotiating with licensors, design agencies & suppliers, developing solid working relationships
  • Review weekly sales v forecasts with sales team and update on any issues
  • Liaising daily with suppliers to effectively build the new collections

Experience/Qualities Required:

  • 2 Years’ experience ideal in similar role FMCG
  • Bill of materials (BOM)
  • Material resource planning (MRP)
  • CIPS qualified would be desirable
  • Meticulously organised
  • Dynamic Team Player
  • Sage accounting system
